Happy New Year!

I love the new year - it feels like a clean slate, a chance for all new opportunities and the most optimistic time of the year!  We are all hopeful for what's coming, but the truth is...we have to do things differently for things to be different!  It's an incredible teaching opportunity for your kids to see you get motivated to make a change and to follow through with your goals.  Be an amazing example for your kids of "stick-to-it-iveness"!

In addition to the usual new year's resolutions, I have also started a new ritual.  I put a glass jar in my kitchen with a stack of post-it notes and a pen nearby.  This is for my family and me to write down a moment during the day that we loved or made us happy or even something for which we are grateful.  Then, we will go through and read those memories at the end of this year.  What a great way to bring greater happiness and joy into our lives.  It also makes us look at the little moments as special.  I highly recommend doing some kind of ritual to up the happiness /gratitude quotient in your lives!
